cute stuff

I know there are tons of cute "deal" sites...
however, I am totally smitten with

it's a little addicting, but super reasonable...
check out this cute crystal bracelet
I scored for under eight bucks...

I am no-photo taking fashionista, but here's a
pic of my new favorite bracelet paired with
my old favorite bracelet from
FarmGirlPaints on Etsy

here's to my super duper amazing girl...

the top of "top 100" four years in a row=valedictorian

it must have been a trip to tilly's
where the boys picked up these
crazy mustaches...they crack me up....

the funny thing is, they just keep popping up in pictures...
my older son's is real, but notice my other son's "mustache"
goodness gracious...

the ice cream man...

do you ever have this happen where you see something and it just
brings back a specific memory? ? ?

yikes, I have been so busy with school preparing for this online
common core testing and all...it's a busy time of the year...
today as I drove home the ice cream man crossed my path~
of course I slowed down....because out came running
two kids sans shoes running like gazelles...screaming
wait ! wait ! wait !
the scene took me back to summer way-back-when..
running on the hot pavement, screaming, quarters jingling....
the image is as clear as yesterday

awe, love those memories
{I'm pretty sure that was also the "summer of my first cavity"}
{and the summer my mom asked us how the whole quarter jar disappeared? sorry mom}

slow cooker Texas pulled pork

my oldest son made this
on Easter eve...
we had this on rolls and a yummy tri-tip on the side
{no ham this year}

then we celebrated my son's bday...
we opted for a TWO and a THREE
rather than 23 blazing candles hahaha
happy birthday to my son...
the most amazing chef we know :)

here is the recipe
from AllRecipes.com
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 (4 pound) pork shoulder roast
1 cup barbeque sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 extra large onion, chopped
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
8 hamburger buns, split
2 tablespoons butter, or as needed
1.Pour the vegetable oil into the bottom of a slow cooker. Place the pork roast into the slow cooker; pour in the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth. Stir in the brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion, garlic, and thyme. Cover and cook on High until the roast shreds easily with a fork, 5 to 6 hours.
2.Remove the roast from the slow cooker, and shred the meat using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, and stir the meat into the juices.
3.Spread the inside of both halves of hamburger buns with butter. Toast the buns, butter side down, in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown. Spoon pork into the toasted buns.

college excitement

my girl has been accepted to the college of her dreams :)
we are beyond excited for her and oh so proud...
it was the very last university to notify her...well worth the wait...

we don't mess around with parties around here...it's gonna be all out
blue and yellow with a flag on the front porch and all

I am so grateful for the amazing teachers who have inspired her...
and so grateful for this next chapter of awesomeness in her life   :)

good stuff

it's been a refreshing, relaxing spring break...

sometimes it's great to have days filled with lunch with friends,
facials, shopping in old town, bridal tea planning,
fun outings with the kids, easy dinners...and Easter dinner planning
{all without the stress of my day job/school for a bit}

I just love this delicious lotion from Archipelago...
it's super fun because it looks like a tube of toothepaste haha
it's a yummy coconut and it just smells like summer
you can find it HERE on amazon

I am stitching up some kitchen towels for little
gifts for the bridal tea game prizes
{how cute will this be with a bottle of Meyers hand soap?}
just a buck per image~then print on iron-on transfer paper~
iron on the image, and add a little stitch of fabric~ whalllaaaa~ cuteness

I am so thankful for the amazing friends I have made in school....
a buddy from my master's program happens to teach AVID, too...
she's literally a life-saver :)
check out all of this great college fair stuff she gifted me~

ahhhh, Magnolia Street Paper is my new fave graphic designer/card maker
I was furious when my home printer chewed up the bridal tea invites
I had planned to use....eeeekkkks... Etsy to the rescue...
you can purchase a download and print at home or hire them to
do the job....I chose the latter, no time to mess with this darn printer :)

dream kitchen

it's official :)
we have our dream kitchen...

it was a weekend of tile...I loved it,
setting tile and grouting is a little like frosting a cake

it was a bit of work, but worth it...

it may be another weekend until the drawer pulls
and knobs are installed...but here's a look:

I successfully installed ONE drawer pull,
it's not so easy...soooo I think I will wait for the boss to finish it off :)

as seen below the knob installation didn't quite work out...
honey, help :(

the island is my favorite, there are tons of cool markings
in the granite...love this slab :)

soooo, after everything was cleaned up and put away
there was a little more grout to get done....
I improvised and used a cake spatula and butter knife since hubby had
already stored away the putty knife/tile stuff :) hey, it worked

now I need to take out the real camera and take a decent pic of my dream kitchen :)

paper lanterns

I hope my sweet neighbors don't mind
these paper lanterns on the porch.....

I love them :) feels like summer is sneaking up...

here's a daytime pic of our little fountain...

so cute, eh?

awe, the first flower on
one of my favorite succulents...

how sweet are these piglets?
a few weeks ago we toured our neighboring high school
with all of our AVID kids...
they were so excited to go on this tour....AND we went
through the entire agriculture department...
it's highly rated in the country and so amazing~

I love it :)
