Catalina

we had an amazing weekend in Catalina for Father's Day...

the girls and I all fell in love with the goodies at

this cucumber melon lotion is scrumptious...

and this little tiny coconut votive is sooooo fragrant....

we took a tour of the Casino
which has never ever had gambling inside...
we learned that "casino" was a name for a gathering/dancing place...
it wasn't until after the 40s that gambling and casinos became one

we hiked over to the Wrigley memorial and botanical gardens....

this island is the cutest place ever, I seriously could live there...
check out this view~
this was taken on our 3 hour golf cart ride around Avalon

here we are soooo excited to take off in our golf cart...yippeeee...

our driver, and celebrated Father's Day guest...

ahhhhh, another view from the back road...so beautiful!

we were sooo happy to find out ABBA was playing down by the water...
ok, the ABBA cover band, but they were incredible :)
the drummer toured with the real deal so we were impressed
{and crazy enough, we knew all the words to ALL the songs...
I think I took the kids to see Mamma Mia at the movies 4 times
as well as the play down in LA...haha, we were happy}

fairy house

I received the most darling gift from
one of my students on the last day of school....

a little fairy house...

she said "I saw this on Pinterest and HAD to make it!"
yikes, it's sooooo cute, there is a little candle inside so
it lights up when your fairy is "home"...
and how cute is the roof covered in seashells?
I just adore this gift :)

my AVID students knocked it out of the park with
their awesome college projects...

the halls were filled with projects...it was the best...

what a way to end our incredible year
AVID has spread like wildfire...it was a highly chosen elective
for the next school year, and we are expanding from 2 to 6 courses
YIPPEEEE :)

happy summer, it's officially beginning for us now...

grocery store cuteness

so I had the most darling bridal tea
last weekend for my friend...

I don't even have time to go through the pix now
with school getting out and all the end-of-year activities...

but, look how cute~ the gal who decorated for me
dressed up every inch of the backyard with lace:

so, with all the decorating for the party I needed a drink dispenser stand
and a cake stand...what do ya know,
my darling grocery store had these concrete pedestals...

as soon as I spied them in the floral dept I KNEW I'd find other uses for them...

the best part is the price...the gal marked them down to six bucks
since they were "chipped up"  yippee yah eh!
so cute, love the goodies I find at the market :)

easy dessert tower

I picked up a few melamine plates and plastic goblets
at Joann's for this dessert tower...
it was as easy as a squirt of E6000 glue and a bit of dry time...

we opted for donuts with blue and yellow sprinkles
{for our graduate and her new school UC Berkeley}

the party was a hit with a taco-caterer
(heavenly, we didn't have to cook and the food was amazing)
and donuts instead of cake to cut and serve
**side note: every guest was smiling eatin' donuts :)

of course we had to get this flag to beckon our guests...

look out Berkeley, here she comes....

lantern cluster

I have to share one little decoration
 detail from our grad party...
this fun paper lantern cluster

Yikes it was so easy and cute for just a few bucks...
(here is the backside)

you can find the lanterns for less than a dollar each HERE
and the tissue balls HERE

it's an easy way to make a statement and add color to your event...

just assemble all of the parts for the lantern and fluff the tissue balls,
attach varying lengths of fishline or twine and attach to the wall...
whallaaa cuteness :)
